Portrait Artist
Nicole Petersen studied painting at the University of Delaware, graduating in 2004. Soon after she received a fellowship from Delaware Division of the arts and has since shown in galleries throughout Delaware. In 2008, she illustrated A Young Scholar's guide to Composers while teaching art and continuing to pursue her primary passion of portrait painting. Nicole currently lives in Philadelphia and creates portraits for clients in the tri-state area and beyond.
Nicole's portraits bring the unique spirit of each subject to canvas with sensitivity and subtlety. She works from her own professional photographs as primary reference for her paintings so that hours of sitting are not required. In her studio, Nicole combines her photographs with what she has learned about her subjects in order to bring them to life on canvas with texture and dimension.
